Schlossbrauerei Stelzer (FATTI by Stelzer) origins goes back to 1353. Robber barons, dynasties of princes and squires have brewed the best beer right here. In 1909, patriarch Christian Michael Stelzer purchased the brewery. Our brewery is located in a small village called Fattigau in Upper-Franconia close to the city of Hof. Upper-Franconia is a district in the Northern Bavarian region of Germany and has the highest density of breweries worldwide.
As the first brewery in Upper-Franconia we brew with ‘Bioland’ resources from controlled organic farming after strict ‘Bioland’ guidelines, which means we use only all natural and organic ingredients. The outstanding brewing comes out of a Natural Spring Water well that is 320’ deep.
Our beer ferments by the classical cold brewing process in the fermenting cellar. After the primary fermentation, the beer matures at low temperatures in the storage cellar. This makes our Bavarian beer very pure in its taste.
